Proteins in the cell are either labeled with antibodies conjugated to a fluorophore or with fluorescent dyes. Description: We are looking for an Animal Care Assistant to join our Surgical & Animal Core at Cox-7 Animal Facility, the Edwin L. Steele Laboratory. Cox-7 Animal Facility is a gnotobiotic animal colony operated by the Department of Radiation Oncology at the MGH. Information Services for academic computing, provides access to PC' s and MAC' s for Flow Cytometry data distribution via a high-speed campus wide fiber optic backbone and for the permanent archival of data on our newly acquired terabyte server. The Flow Cytometry Core Facility provides 2 workstations for data analysis centrally located in the Medical School library.
In addition, they provide self-run analysis on two BD FACSCaliburs and a BD LSRII, self-operated magnetic cell sorting on our Miltenyi AutoMACS and access to several computers and data packages for offline

Dr. Sharma graduated in 2001 from B.J. Medical College, University of Pune, India, and completed his first year of residency training at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City. The Flow Cytometry Facility, located at UMass Medical School in Worcester, provides a wide variety of cytometry services for internal and external investigators with state-of-the-art sorting and analyzing capabilities. For analysis we currently have three 4-color FACSCaliburs, a 2 laser LSR II, a 4 laser LSRII and a 5 laser LSRII. Our cell sorters include a 3 laser Beckman Coulter MoFlo XDP hi The CCIB DNA Core routinely incorporates the following oligonucleotide modifications at the time of synthesis: 5' Biotin, 5' 6-FAM, 5' HEX, and 5' Phosphate. In these cases, the cost for the modifying reagent will be added on to the standard synthesis fee.
